Should you really "shake it like a Polaroid picture?"
Ever since the song "Hey Ya" by Andre 3000 of Outkast came out, everyone is shaking their Polaroid pictures. Shaking or waving a Polaroid picture to help the development process originated in the early days of peel-apart film. After peeling the negative, the image needed to dry before it could be handled, so waving the photo helped it to dry more quickly. When using the integral films (600, Spectra, 500, SX-70/Time-Zero, i-Zone) that are used in our most popular current camera models (Polaroid One, OneStep, JoyCam, etc.), the image develops and dries behind a clear plastic window and never touches the air, so shaking or waving has no effect. In fact, excessive shaking or waving can actually damage the image. Rapid movement during development can cause portions of the film to separate prematurely, or can cause "blobs" in the picture. The best way to ensure a perfectly developed image is to simply lay the picture on a flat surface immediately after it exits the camera.

There are times when only a Polaroid will do, this camera is sleek and compact and super easy to use, kids LOVE it and it is great when you want to SEE the photo in your hand while on the road, the camera is a baragin but watch the price of the film it can get pricey if you don't keep your snapping under control.

This camera works great. It stays in my car and gets bounced around a lot. I had a cheaper one (the basic polaroid model) and after any turbulace it would spit out 3 pictures at a time and none would turn out. At $1 a pic, that's not cost effective. I've had no problems with this and it works great everytime I've used it. Worth the extra couple bucks.

This camera is such a pleasure to use. In freezing cold or searing heat -which we have a lot of in this area - it keeps cranking out the pictures. I also have a couple of digital cameras, but when I want a picture without having to deal with settings and other distractions, this is the camera I use. Love it!

Don't buy this ever! .......2005-02-24

We bought the Epson Stylus CX6400 at the Mac store because it was recommended. It's the worst printer I have ever bought. The printer may have been a good deal - but once you consider the fact that it barely prints before running out of ink - the cost of replacing the ink every week is considerable! What a scam!
The Mac store should NOT market these printers! I have a HP Deskjet 870 Cse and it never runs out of ink and we've had it for many years and it's still a great printer and it's better than the "new" Epson printer! And - we have an old Apple laser printer that never runs out of ink! It still works great and we've had that more than 10 years! Epson is terrible and I will never buy one again!

everythings good...sound quality, never skips, battery life. only two problems. due to the fact that it has no antenna the reception for radio tv and wb can get pretty bad. also the head fones r really bad (broke them in less then a week)

The SONY D-FJ401 is anything but "junk". As a review reader, I like to read the cons first...

Cons:
- The included headphones work quite well at first, but it'll die on you sooner or later. I had to buy another pair of headphones.
- I'm not complaining that it's heavy, but I'd say it'd be better if it was more lighter.
- The controls can be a bit confusing at first (with it being almost an all-in-one).

Pros:
- Plays burnt compact discs as well as regular discs.
- I've dropped this on marble tile about three to five times and it kept playing smoothly when I picked it off the floor. The interface isn't even damaged (yet).

I received this player as a gift and I do not regret it. I still think it's the best for my needs.

I GOT THIS CD PLAYER AND NOT ONCE HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I LOVE THE SOUND BUT THE HEAD PHONES ARE WRACK, I ADVISE YOU TO BUY BETTER HEAD PHONES. THIS WOULD BE THE BEST! I had many problems with this unit.............2003-08-01

This unit was one of the most frustrating purchases of my life. ...

This unit had problems from the beginning. First, it wouldn't save the preset radio stations sometimes. Second, it wouldn't read recorded CD's that I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH ON ANY OTHER CD PLAYER. I always copy my CD's from originals in 4x speed and I never have any other problems. Third, sometimes a scratchy sound would be audible. Fourth, for the price of this unit I would of expected better headphones than the dollar carnival prize that came with this player. Fifth, the battery life was about 6 hours for CD playing. Finally, the G-shock protection didn't work at all and CD player would only work in a complete stationary position.

Bottom Line: Maybe I just got a bad one but it seems like that happens way to often with Sony products.

After installing drive and software with ease, I sucessfully burned 2 audio cds and 3 data cds. Now for some reason it only works for data (pictures). Every time I try to burn a list of songs it errors out after a couple of songs resulting in many thrown out cds. I am definitely returning this one.

Just bought this inspite of the review. Worked great !! XP plug-n-play was just perfect. Nero installed with absolutely no probs.

Already burnt 2 audio CDs, no glitches, no throw-away CDs, CDs sound great. Drive was a little noisy initially, but then I guess I got used to it along with other fan noises around.

I definetely recommend this product. Worth a try b4 you write it off. Rated it 4 b'cos of the noise.
I'll surely update my views based on further usage.

I purchased this product as a 2nd cd recorder. My first is a Sony, a great product, but I thought I would compare them. DON'T BOTHER with this one! It gets one star b/c there isn't an option for negative numbers here...

The product is supposed to *work* with the Nero software they package it with, which is GARBAGE. It is difficult to use and the support number is in GERMANY! I have an extensive background in computer technology and have never been so disappointed in a product. Please don't waste your money. I returned mine.

It works, but..........2006-10-01

This appears identical to the Kima I bought several years ago (USR is black, Kima is silver). I used it to transmit music to FM radios around the house. It worked well at first, with a range of 10 ft. or more; but over the years, the FM transmission seems to have weakened. Now, even sitting next to an FM radio, the reception is unusable. I see the USR is no longer available from Amazon but the Kima is still available elsewhere.

A Simple Solution With Several Caveats.......2005-06-05

This device was very easy to set up and use, but beware of a few caveats: first, I found the 88.1 and 88.3FM options a total bust - the reception was very poor. However, the 900MHz link works fine, but it means that you have to use the receiving unit as well as the base unit. Second, the sound quality is satisfactory for voice-grade audio, which is what I was looking for, but it is only so-so for music. Finally, the manufacturer has inexplicably not included a volume control or headphone jack on the receiving unit. A trip to Radio Shack took care of the headphone connection, but I have to go back to the source (in my case a computer streaming BBC Radio 4) to adjust the volume.

Works great to play MP3s from the computer to the stereo if the A/V line is plugged directly into the stereo. Not so great if you try to use the FM transmission on a boombox or radio.

old technology. the longer you listen to it the worse it sounds.mine is now in the boneyard of the junk drawer.go for soething like netgear. the sound quality difference is the difference between hyper drive and sublight. i would revise my srar rating to one star but amazon won't allow it.

This thing Sucks.......2003-11-26

As my title states, this thing REALLY sucks. I tried every channel, and pressed scan..and everything..and it wouldn't lock on to the signal. Even when it was 5 feet away in the same room. The only thing it would pick up was a bunch of junk, and other peoples phone conversations.

And what did come through was all distorted...

Summary: NEVER buy this...in fact..call up US Robotics and ask them why they made such a horrible product. I bought this because i've had good experiences with USR before....oh well.
