DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!.......2007-08-22

I purchased this camera just for casual use when I don't want to take my SLR out under questionable weather conditions and risk getting it damaged. Bottom line, this was $50 from Walmart, and a true case of "you get what you pay for".. horrible picture quality, the "OK" button only works once in awhile, there is about a 5 second lag time between taking one picture and the next, and it won't even erase a photo like it's supposed to. Needless to say I am returning this poor quality item. Don't waste your money on this!

waste of money.......2007-03-15

we bought this camera before my son was born and unfortunately his newborn pics are blurred, over time I tweaked it a little and still found the pics are bad, out of focus, blurred, red eye, too light, too dark, you name it. Waste of money if you value your pictures. I am pissed the first year of my son's life is captured by this horrible camera.

i paid 50 dollars for this camera from a walgreens. it was confusing at first but easy to figure out. the screen shows images too bright but once you get them onto a photo or computer they seem to look perfect. in good lighting with no flash it takes amazing pictures, but you can't be in the middle of a mild earthquake because it will show traces. i'd pay the extra 100 and get an optical zoom camera but this one is sufficient..

HORRIBLE & WASTE OF MONEY.......2005-11-10

My husband bought this camera so I could do ebay work. Needless to say the card only holds 14 pictures, and runs through batterys VERY quickly. It is very confusing to use, and the flash is the worst! I have been having a lot of problems with pictures coming out pitch black even when the flash is on. I hate this camera, and tomorrow morning I am going out to buy a new one. DO NOT BUY!!!

Works well - minor bugs.......2005-08-19

Overall the performance is good, but some of the indicator lights don't quite work correctly. I was up and running about 15 minutes after unpacking, and about 5 min was digging behind my desk to get to my power strip. The unit works good and solved the problem I had with my old set up dropping my wireless connection every 10 minutes. That is why I spent the extra for the smart antena technology.

The minor problems, the WAN and LAN lights only work if connected to a 100Mbps wired connection. My older cable modem and desktop have 10Mbps. Also the WLAN indicator is just a steady blink. I realize that it is designed to flash with activity, but this is a constant every second blink even with my laptop off and no wireless activity. I called tech support and after "trying everything" they told me to return it. I'm reluctant to do that since I finally have a reliable wireless connection, and I don't care that much about the indicator lights.

Overall performace is good, just the minor problem with the indicator lights - which most people won't have, since I would guess very few people out there have the slow 10Mbps connections.

No regrets........2003-08-05

I purchased my CD-RW drive from major electronics chain after I saw it advertised. I purchased based on price and the fact I exclusively used TDK brand audio tapes years ago. Yes, I had difficulty installing, but that was because I used Windows' install feature, which couldn't find the enclosed drivers, instead of following the directions and using the installation utility supplied by TDK. DOH! Also, when duplicating discs, I encountered the application hanging, but I discovered this was caused by serious circular source disc scratches. Once cd's were fixed to remove the scratches, no problems encountered with the use. In spite of this, I don't hesitate to recommend. Computer installed on was 5yo Win 98 system, and no compatibility problems encountered.

For the person who complained about not meeting performance claims, perhaps he was limited by a older 1.1 USB port .....

Also worth noting, a request for assistance on the TDK website was promptly responded to the same day.

Great external CD-R/W.......2003-02-16

I love my external TDK USB 2.0 CD-R/W Drive 40x12x48x. I used this CD-R/W drive to successfully imaged my Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 2000 and RedHat Linux 8.0 partitions using Norton Ghost 2003 from my desktop and laptop computers. I also successfully created VideoCDs of my favorite home videos using the included Nero software. I used the drive off a USB2 PCI card and operated on 40x write speed, as fast as I expected from the drive. This is one device you can be proud to own.

TDK did It Again. Reliable Fast Burner.......2002-11-12

I got this burner as an upgrade for my 12X velocd. The installation was quick and easy(no need to pry open my computer). I can burn using different speeds (max 40x)depending on media quality. To take advantage of hi-speed writing just make sure you have a working USB 2.0 port( don't buy this product if you only have USB 1.1).

The bundled Nero 5.5 software is very reliable and easy to use(even easier by using the Wizard). I love the CD TXT writing feature where I can access the free internet database. That way I don't need to manually type the song track title and song artist. Also burnproof technology that comes with the velocd makes my compiled and/or copied CDs perfect everytime.

The TDK mixmaster software works great and has loads of feature found on expensive players.

TDK did it again by offering a reliable hardware and a robust software bundle. I think of this as really a great value, more stuff for the money.

A final word. Read carefully the minimum PC requirements for this product. Keep burning!

Frustrated by Junk.......2002-10-19

This machine will only frustrate you.

The instructions are poorly compiled and written. They do not link with the software and ..., you find that the machine cannot deliver on its advertised speed.

I would NEVER buy another thing from this manufacturer.
