The MissingLink feature allows the ports on the media converter to convey the status of their links. When the media converter detects a problem with a port - such as the loss of connection to a node - it shuts down the connection, thereby notifying the node that the connection has been lost. I had purchased this unit from Amazon.com in January, 2005. Amazon had the lowest price I could find and free shipping as well at the time. Don't waste your time and purchase this unit unless saving desk space, an electrical outlet or having less cables hanging on the back of your computer is of the most importance to you! You would certainly be sacrificing connection speed to get all that! This modem is very noticeably slower than a Motorola Surboard SB5120, at least on MY Cox broadband connection! After 15 disappointing minutes I uninstalled the unit and software and put the surfboard back on. Within ten minutes I was fully recovered and happy to be speeding along on the Internet!

Zoom Cable Modem - Not My First Choice.......2004-10-29

If you're considering purchasing a Zoom high speed modem, you may wish to wait. Users are reporting compatibility issues with some network providers. Symptoms include random loss of connection and poor speed (throughput). The problem seems to effect more than just this version of the Zoom cable modem. The problem has been confirmed by Zoom Technical Support. Zoom is working on resolving the problem but doesn't have a solution at this time.

Worth the price........2005-04-13

I had bought this scanner about a year ago from Officemax, so far it has been working fine, even with XP.
Had problem once or twice with the software showing the "Scanner is locked" when in fact it was not, It becomes little irritating then. Thats why I am giving it 4 stars. However, that problem got fixed when I reinstalled the drivers again.
The Scanning speed is pretty decent and lot of choices with the Qaulity of scan. Not very noisy too.
I have used the OneTouch feature very rarely ,Hence can't comment much about it. But I think works decently.
Finally for the price, I had just paid $10 after rebate and hence did not expect this machine to work much. However, it exceeded my expectations and still working.I think it is worth the buck, even if bought at 39.99 (which was the original price I paid and got back $30 as rebate).
So expect for the "Scanner Locked" error message, I never had any problem with this scanner. If you don't need a very heavy duty scanner and just scan ocassionaly then this one is right at a very low budget.
