I was very impressed with the sound quality. The ability to increase the volume is a very nice touch. But-t-t. I am very disappointed with the ear piece. No matter how hard I tried, or in what position I put the ear piece, it was very uncomfortable! It kept slipping out of my ear, which also moved the microphone out of range of my mouth. I don't think I have an unusual size ear. I now know that I want a head set type.

This palm size telephone is really handy. It's hands-free (NO HANDSET) with 15 foot long telephone cord, so you can walk around, do things while you're talking on the phone. Also, it has glow in the dark keypad, adjustable volume, redial key, flesh key (i.e., call waiting), ... plus very good voice quality.

Bad unit?.......2006-01-10

I have other FRS radios, and I though this would be good for the kids to wear to keep track of them. When someone talks on the unit, the words are totally garbled on the other end. Pretty much useless. J&R does not pay for shipping, so $$ on the way back and $$ for a replacement is not worth it. It's possible I got a bad unit, but I'm not investing anymore of my time, except to finish this review.

Got this for my wife for Christmas, it was a good deal, and she really enjoys it. It works great for the money...very lightweight and been dropped several times and keeps working perfectly...sturdy! The best/ big thing....if you're ever at a gym, you know stuff gets stolen from lockers, gym bags, etc. Or maybe you've left your ipod on the treadmill, by the water fountain, or outside the showers, and 'bye-bye $200+ bucks!'. So if you lose it, you won't 'lose it!'...your mind, that is. Anyway, it works as advertised, the price is right, it looks good, so what are people complain' about?? If you wanted an i-pod, go spend 20x what this costs and shut up already. But if you're looking for an inexpensive gym radio, this is the one. Inexpensive, not cheap. And it looks cool to boot!

Well, I for one like this unit and haven't had any problems with the quality or reception. I live in Florida, it's flat, so... But anyway, I loved the look, the white i-pod finish, and it's very easy to operate, no complicated stuff to figure out. As for batteries, it states right on the package it lasts 20 hours, so I use rechargables. That's pretty standard stuff though. Nice belt clip or armband, adjustable, stays in place. Hey, the price is right, and it's by Virgin. Try it!

I am so glad I took the time to RETURN this item. I intially loved the concept of a small radio to bring to the gym. But when the radio kept falling off my arm, had very poor reception and needed 2 batteries in the first week, I knew I made a mistake. Also I spent addtional money to find headphones that wouldn't keep falling from my ears. Please do NOT waste your money.
