Flawed and Limited Parental Control Features..........2006-01-18

I purchased this router primarily for its parental control filtering functions. I was disappointed in that you can easily reach porn sites with this router's porn filtering enabled. The URL blocking also will not block unless the term you want blocked is part of the doc com address. The router was easy to set up and has a stronger signal than the Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 it was to replace. The Belkin had better parental control filtering options compared to the ZyXel P-334WT. Unfortunately Belkin has horrible tech support and when the free 6 months of filtering on the Belkin expired it would not allow me to renew the service and nobody at Belkin knows what they are doing. Level 2 tech support also does not call back. So it looks like I may need to look for yet another parental control router unless ZyXel has a fix for their parental control flaws.

This is a terrible phone.......2007-02-24

I've had this phone replaced by VTech twice. The problem is that you can't hear on it for all the static. It works fine for about a month then the static starts. Before that the sound gets weaker and fainter each time you talk. My third phone also failed. I couldn't hang up! It's a terrible phone. I bought it because it has all the features I need. So what, if you can't hear. I want a refund!

Best Two Line Cordless on the Market.......2005-09-06

I have been using this particular handset for about a year and a half now and just bought another one. This is my third. I have a small chain of wireless cell phone stores and now have one in each store. The phone is great because it is durable and has a speaker phone (which is good for long hold times when calling
customer care!) I have gone through numerous other phones and have found this one is the best for my needs.

I bought two of these phones ,after a month in one phone i had problems like ,Static And button problem, and in the other one i am having the battery problem, i have to keep the handset on the base all the time.

I have had this phone for about a year and a half. It's not a bad phone, works solidly, and you can't beat the price. Would I get it now? Definitely not. My issues with this phone:

1) Button response is slow (Can't press "on" and immediately dial a number, for instance).

2) No voice mail indicator.

3) No headset speakerphone.

4) Unit ships with NiCd battery, which dies faster than you can sneeze. I bought a NiMH battery from Staples and it's been fine ever since.

5) Looks aren't as nice as some other phones, it's also a bit larger and heavier than most.

6) Range could be better.

Two controllers cannot be used with each other.......2004-02-21

We bought two of these controllers for Christmas. My two boys cannot use them at the same time. They don't work together - they seem to receive signals from each other. They are using their old wired controllers, so they can play together. Also, when the batteries get low everything turns to the left.

bad quality control spoils an otherwise great controller.......2004-02-19

First of all, AMAZON has to change the description of this item. This controller comes with its own "RECHARGABLE" battery pack and charger. And it DOES NOT take AAA batteries, or any other batteries. In fact, if the supplied battery pack dies, you may be in trouble. You can not put regular batteries in it without some modifications to the battery chamber. The battery pack is a sealed unit, and seems to comprise of two AA Ni-Cad rechargable batteries.

The first unit I received would not work. The problem eventually turned out to be a bad charger for the battery pack. Amazon sent me a replacement pretty fast, and that unit seemed to work fine, but the controller acted funky when the left joy stick was pressed all the way to the left. This somehow caused it to trigger the left trigger buton too! Since I had still not returned my first unit, I used the controller from the first one, and after some mix-and-match, I had the whole setup working to my satisfaction. I waited for a few days before returning the remaining set to Amazon. Basically, this is all because of bad manufacturing and quality control.

Another possible problem with the unit is that is uses 2.4GHz frequency. I was not able to use the unit when my wife was speaking on our Panasonic 2.4GHz cordless phone. Fortunately, we also have an older 900MHz coreless phone that we remember to use when using this controller. I have an 802.11a wireless access point, which uses 5GHz so it does not interfere. Another potential interference causing unit is the microwave oven. If you have too many 2.4GHz sources at home, try the Logitech wireless controller instead. I believe it works at 900mhz.

Answer to drift problem.......2004-01-18

First, if your contoller drifts right then return it and get a new one.(YOU CAN NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, ONLY PREVENT IT) The reason for the problem is not making the switch on the bottom of the reciever match the controller slot. Also, the switch under the battery pack has to match the reciever and the controller slot.(IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS THE PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN)

Wireless Wonder.......2003-12-18

Here's the real skinny on this near clone of the original Microsoft Xbox controller (not the "s" controller). It is extremely comfortable, even after several hours of non-stop gaming. It includes a "RECHARGEABLE" battery pack and charger. The battery lasts for about 60 hours of use, and recharges in 4 hours. The controller works wirelessly on 2.4 Ghz frequency. This is great and very reliable, however, a word of caution; if you have other wireless items nearby, such as a phone or router that uses 2.4 Ghz frequency, this may cause intermittent interference. When using the controller next to my 2.4 Ghz wireless phone, when the phone rings or is in use, it causes the controller to act somewhat irrational during gameplay. I gather this is an issue not exclusive to this product or manufacturer, but to all electronics using the same radio frequency in close proximity. The controller has vibration control, and is excellent for FPS and TPS games, as well as for other games. Tested on 12 games and works exceptionally well. Also has turbo feature and is made of high quality with rubberized grips and thumbsticks. Only gave this controller 4 stars, instead of 5 stars, due to a repeated issue involving the controller having a tendency to occaisionally drift to the right on the left thumbstick, even when the stick is not being touched. This isn't an issue for most games, but presents an issue for shooter games, since pinpoint accuracy/control is needed. I've had the controller for a week, and really enjoy using it. The manufacturer claims it works to 30 feet away. The receiver also has two memory card slots, and is visually pleasing and complimentary to the system. My plan is to return this controller to Toys'R'Us, and exchange it for another one. Hopefully, the issue won't be there on the new one. Worth the 50 bucks. If the issue repeats, I'll still keep the controller and deal with its personality.

A good card for the price........2003-07-07

I recently purcased a 64 mb 440 to replace my 32 mb Geforce 2 GTS that came in my computer. While the difference is not night and day, this card certainly delivers acceptable performance for the money. I was never much for benchmarks, just actual performance. On a 1 Ghz Athlon with 512 mb of ram and this card, I can run Warcraft 3 smoothly with all the settings turned up. I have also tried out several other recent game demos and can run them all fairly well. It will not run all the new games with all the settings cranked to the maximum certainly, but considering when I bought this it was less than 1/3 of what I could get a ti for, I think it was well worth the price. Is it the ultimate card? No. But it will last me the remaining year until I buy a new PC and upgrade everything. If you do buy this, realize you will have to upgrade it for gaming within the next year or two, but that is nothing new to any gamer. Think of it as a stopgap measure, and a much cheaper route to go than buying a radeon 9700 or some other overpriced card.

... My current video card was dying, causing my computer to crash frequently, and I needed to do something. Now I am stable again!

My old video card was a 3 year old GeForce 256, which had performed nicely for my needs. I primarily use business applications, and only occasionally play a game.

I tested both the old and new video cards ... The GeForce4 MX440 represented a 60% increase in performance from my old GeForce 256. The other reviewers are correct in that the GeForce3 provides an additional 29% performance increase above the GeForce4 MX440 (per NVidia). However, the GeForce4 MX440 provides a 16% performance increase above the top of the line GeForce2 (also per NVidia).

I'm very happy with this product, because I can now drive 2 monitors, and spent substantially less than I would have for a GeForce3, which I wouldn't have put to the test anyways. I paid less than $90 for the card (brand new - retail version).

The most underrated (not underpriced) product I've seen!.......2002-09-27

I personally bought a Leadtek card, but with the same NVIDIA chipset. I, however, have felt the need to straighten some things out about this card.

The technology is certainly not the same as the geforce2, the only thing holding this card back is the absence of DX8 programabe shaders. This card even does some things like antialising and 2d image quality better than a geforce3 !! The card also has hardware DVD playback support, something that's also lacking in the geforce3.

To be honest you're not going to miss programable shaders right now, you can still play great games like Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor with more than average graphic settings. I even played the WWE RAW demo and it looks awesome. You shouldn't buy the card, however, if you're looking for a long term investment, for that you should save up for a geforce4 ti, because future games with DX8 requirements will be more tha the ones without DX8.

I personally bought it for the low price, 2D quality, more than average DX7 performance, and linux driver support; but prospective buyers should consider all the plus and minuses before making a decision. But you shouldn't pass it over for anything less than a RADEON 9000, RADEON 8500, GEFORCE4 TI, or maybe a GEFORCE3 TI with 128mb of ram.

P.S.: Expect this card to be cheaper when ATI's 9700 pushes NVIDIA's entire lineup into cheaper grounds.
