Great Monitor .....until u own it for a few months...........2004-10-07

I bought this monitor from an online retailer about 3 months ago. First month went well and I loved the richness of color and the controls and features it offered.

Second month started to notice every once in a while the monitor would flicker in certain parts of screen.

Third and final month I wake up and turn on the monitor to see a bright red patch of color in one corner. The lower corner had a bright green patch of color. I turned it off.... and waited 30 mins. Nope still there. Checked my video card with a different monitor and it was fine. Then I tried the p220 again and now it got worst. I had a bright blue screen plus a red patch in one corner and a green patch in another.

I will never buy viewsonic again useless they show that they have corrected there flaws in this monitor and higher grade monitors. As they seem to have quality issues.

Viewsonic seems to currently have CRT problems.......2004-05-18

I have had great success with Viewsonic in the past. However, last September I purchased a G810 that came DOA. Its replacement is currently having problems too. My Mitsubishi 91TXM finally died after 6 good years of service. I replaced it with a Viewsonic P225F-5 that came with 1/2 of the screen very blurry. I had the factory replace it and the 2nd one came with 2 very dark bands running vertical through the screen -- about 3-inches wide each. It is going back too. I'm going to try a Cornerstone P1750 next.

Version 5 has quality problems.......2004-05-05

Note that these monitors come in different versions. I am a happy user of P225FB-4 monitor that is made in Taiwan. Recently I needed another monitor and didn't think twice about buying P225FB, but I bought version -5 this time. It is different. Not only it has different layout of both front and back panels, which I have no objection to, but the image is also of considerably lower quality. Graphics is not bad, but text in high-res modes (1600x1200) is not readable. I also noticed that on version -5 it now says that it is made in China. After I tried two units of P225FB-5, I decided to try Cornerstone P1750. That monitor works flawlessly with both text and graphics. On top of that it can do over 100Hz refresh rates at 1600x1200 resolution, unlike ViewSonic.

The bottom line is if you can get P225FB-4 -- it is excellent.
Don't buy P225FB-5 -- poor quality assembly and plenty of engineering defects.

Love This Monitor!.......2004-04-22

I highly recommend this monitor! I use it mainly for gaming. I had to upgrade my video card to 256K to match the monitor's high-resolution capabilities.

I accidently "crash tested" it when it fell off the back of my truck at 65 m.p.h., and it suffered no ill effects!

The only drawback is its incredible weight, and lack of handles, making it extremely un-portable. It is much bulkier than a standard 17 in. CRT. Not something to bring to LAN parties...

I will never buy another viewsonic product.......2006-01-20

I bought my P22FB monitor in June of 2003. It worked fine for 11 months & then started jittering very badly. I sent it in for warranty service (it had a 3 year warranty) & got it back a month later, working again. Less than a year and a half later, the same problem surfaced again. I sent it back again & it has now been over 2 1/2 months & I still don't have my monitor back. Plus, Viewsonic has mistakenly shipped me TWO 17" monitors since that time. Most of the time you can't get through to their support line at all & when you can, it usually means a 30+ minute wait. I have to assume that either their products are breaking down at very high rates or their support lines are woefully understaffed. They have been extremely unresponsive to both phone calls & email & don't seem to me to have any commitment whatsoever to customer service. I will never buy another product from them, no matter how much technical praise they may receive.

I ordered the -4 model, but got the -5 model, which I heard had problems and it did. The screen gets blurry toward the edges, makes an onouxious noise when turned out and then screen shakes frequently. Did not like it. Amazon service was great though.

I bought this beutiful peace of art about 6 months ago, probably even longer ago, and it is STILL one of the best CRT Monitors out there. What else would you need then a 22 incher? I did have some shipping problems, but I was delighted when I recieved this product. It's easy to setup and adjust (just plug it in!). There will be an installing thing when you first open up the computer. Just put in the CD which came with the monitor and install it. You don't even have to install the drivers from the CD but I recommend it. Goto viewsonic.com for the latest drivers if you're having any problems getting it to work, but that's a highly unlikely thing to occur. I can't tell you enough how nice this product is. I've had NO PROBLEMS at all from day one. I've actually left the monitor screen on for 2 weeks without closing it and it still works fine. It's been more then 6 months since I got this thing and it's working in mint condition. The monitor itself is very nice looking, but its pretty damn big as well so make sure you have enough space on the table for it before you buy it! The demensions are posted on viewsonic.com. And if you have to choose between the white and black version, get the black one. It looks so much nicer then the white one, and it's the exact same price. I love this monitor =)

Nice...except when you need service........2003-05-06

My brand new Monitor...less than 6 months old...starts smoking and spitting sparks...then little flames come out of the top....If I was not home...I am sure my house would have caught fire.

So...I send this thing back...it cost me 82.00 to have it packaged and shipped by UPS (Viewsonic won't pay me back)

Viewsonic will replace it...but...since they don't have one in stock...I have to wait. All the resellers have plenty in stock but the factory is out?
I have been waiting over 3 weeks now.

Also I have to call them to get this information. I would think after they promise a 5 day turnaround once they recieved the old on...they would at least give me an e-mail to explain the delay.

If I was not so impressed with the product (when its not on fire)...I would tell everyone to stay away from this company.

the product does what is advertised, however the instructions to program the frequencies need a doctorate in something to accomplish. Uniden was no help in the understanding of the instructions. Paid to have it programmed. the instructions were obviously written by a programmer not a functional user.

I think this is a very nice scanner but before trying to hand program it buy and use the software and save your settings to a file in case you mess up. Then play around with manual programming. It is really easy to program this scanner once you figure out how it is suppose to be done. I love this scanner and take it everywhere and wished I would have bought it sooner. It will do everything you want it to and more. I am not sorry that I bought it..Now I want to get the BCT15 for the house...Cheers..Keithmj

First Scanner.......2007-07-12

Since this is my first scanner i really don't have a frame of reference. However I am satisifed with the product. Still learning all the features and it's not nearly as bad as other people make it out to be. Make yourself a favor and purchase the arc246 it will save you a lot of pain.
Wish it would come with the software, cable and a case. That's the only reason it gets 4 stars.

Which is, don't use the keypad to program, buy the software! Once you get past that and setup your individual systems and play with the different features, it's great. I like being able to just touch one button and turn off a system I don't want to hear or vice versa. I like the backlight on squelch feature and reception with the provided rubber duck is pretty good. I upgraded the antenna, but only noticed a small improvement. Wish the speaker was a bit louder, but that is the only negative thing I can think of.

There is alot of background noise even when I switch channels. It would be ok for a back up phone if needed. I had a different Vtech phone for many years until I had to finally replace it. I should have got the same one. Don't waste your money, get a better grade of phone.

I initially went to purchase an answering machine but when I went to a store this unit was the same price so i purchased this instead. The phone and the machine are very simple to use. But the quality of this item is pretty poor. It does what it's supposed to do, but the sound quality of both the machine and phone isn't wonderful. And the product itself just looks cheaply made. You basically get what you pay for in this instance.

I got the three pack and have had no trouble with these phone. Frankly I love them. They are streamline, easy to use and have more features than I know what to do with. The volume is adjustable and Frankly I think they are a little on the loud side not low. but there is a volume setter so I keep mine on low. I love the speakerphone and ear head set feature. Crykee! there are a few phones that do stink but this isn't one of em'.

THIS PHONE SUCKS , YOU CAN HARLY HEAR ON IT AND THE BATTERY LIFE IS TERRIBLE , RINGS ARE LIMITED AND IS AN ALL AROUND A BAD PHONE .

I read the reviews on this phone before buying and was a bit skeptical because of some of the negatives, but took a chance. I work out of my home so a good phone is important to me. So far this phone is more than I expected. (I've had it about 3 weeks)It was the only phone that had everything I was looking for: spread spectrum (for privacy), compactness, large lcd screen, hold function, speakerphone, intercom (didnt think I would use this but it IS handy), and built in phone directory (like my cell phone). I don't even have call waiting but the phone does that too, of course. But even so the phone directory is a real time saver. It holds up to 50 numbers and you scroll up and down. Simplicity is also important to me and I don't like a lot of unnecessary buttons just for show. Vtech kept this one SIMPLE and that is what I like best. The large lcd is nice, back lit, and basically tells you what u need to know. The 3 "softkeys" work like a cell phone and change functions in different menus. I didn't really expect the speakerphone to work well but it sounds better than expected and I do use it, so far with no complaints from callers. Oh, and the belt clip actually works pretty well, unlike some which let the phone slip easily off and onto the floor. NOW, you ask is it as good as a corded phone? Who would expect any compact cordless phone with all these features to have 100% clarity of a corded phone? But the slight difference is far more than compensated by the many advantages offered in this small package. I sometimes use this phone while sitting in front of my desk phone, because of its size and portability! If mine breaks after the warranty, I will just go and buy another handset unless someone else comes up with a better phone for the money, which so far I have not seen.
