I play Battlefield 2 , Call OF Duty 2 . Quake 4 ,Doom3 and a bunch more. I'm very happy with this monitor. Playes everything I can through at it & no goasting at all. I would recommend this monitor anyone who is looking for a Flatscreen LCD. Best Bang for the Buck.

Two Thumbs Way Up

Short Lifespan.......2006-12-01

I purchased 2 Viewsonic LCD monitors and both lasted about a year and a half before the left side of the screens went dark. No diagnostic queries or interaction could bring them back to normal. I contacted customer support and was told that Viewsonic would do nothing. Maybe it was stupid of me not to get a warranty beyond the first year, but I assumed that a good product, with good parts, from a company with a desire to satisfy its customers with a QA/QC program that would ensure good products being produced, would last longer that a year and a half. With 2 LCD moniotrs having the same problem and lasting about the same length of time, this strongly indicates to me a non-coincidental problem within Viewsonic. I will not buy anything from Viewsonic again. I will spend a little money, if I have to, to buy a reliable product from a reliable company.

I find it interesting to see all of these negative reviews.

I bought 3 of these little monitors and have had no dead pixels, no problems at all. I do detailed graphics with them and find them equal to my old Sony 20" CRT monitors for detail and color correctness. I compared them side by side with Apple's new monitors and found the Viewsonics equal in picture quality at less than half the price.

I wonder if perhaps the people with tint problems are using PCs that are not properly configured for the monitors, or video cards that have glitches. I use only Macs, so don't have configuration problems.

BTW: 2 are connected to my primary workstation, G5 tower, giving me 38" of work space in less of a footprint than 1 of the pair of old 20" Sonys I used to use and with more than 100 lbs less weight on my work desk!!!

Poor Quality.......2006-09-22

This monitor has varying degrees of blur.
There are also dark spots.
Isn't ViewSonic supposed to be a reputable brand?
This unit must be a fluke -- I'm returning it for a replacement.

My replacement monitor is free of defects and is working perfectly.
I am upgrading my rating from two stars to four stars.

Had issues with the speakers not working right away, and just after the limited warranty ran out after a year, it began to blink on and off, over & over & over. Customer service was useless. Repair would have been $150 so I just bought a better brand. Avoid any Princeton brand product.

I am quite pleased with the screen. I did have to upgrade my ATI drivers which came with my two year old Acer laptop since I couldn't get the full 1600 pixel width initially. After that, all went smoothly.

It's an awesome monitor.......2006-11-21

We bought this in August and love it. The family had previously gotten together and bought one for my in-laws who love it was well. We've seen no dead pixels, the colors are great, and so much brighter than so many we looked at. We actually had to turn down the brightness. We can't make use of the ultra high resolution, so I can't offer and details there, we need a more modern video card to do so.

Definitely one we'd by again, only not from Tiger Direct. Nasty business that.

Acceptable for a low price.......2006-10-07

I got this monitor about 3 months ago, and it doesn't have any dead pixels. The screen is bright and response time is good for my purposes (office programs).

The built-in speakers however do not perform well at all. I tried using the supplied audio cable and a higher-end one I procured myself, but could not get rid of the interference.

Also, and this is my biggest gripe, the picture becomes unstable when the monitor is showing mostly one color, such as white or blue. It's probably not a big deal when working with software or playing games, but it does bother me when I look at the screen with no applications open (my background is plain blue).

I bought this monitor here a number of months back to replace my one year old 19" Sceptre LCD.Not that there was anything wrong with the 19"... I just wanted to go to a larger screen and Sceptre's performance and pricing make it ever more tempting.

Upon setting the monitor up, I was completely in awe of the crispness of the display.. so much so that I was kind of remiss in setting up my wife with the 19". ;-) There were no dead pixels (and that is true today as well), no "fuzzy" spots, no distortion lines, no ghosting of text, nothing... it was crystal clear.

The Sceptre's performance covers day to day usage easily.. but in my opinion, where it really starts to shine is when gaming. I play a few different games.. Unreal Tournament and City of Villains to give you an idea. None of these games showed any sign of ghosting or clarity degradation due to response time of the monitor (and this is with all of the graphics settings as high as they will go). The 19" I was using had no issues doing the same so I did not expect that the 20" (which has a slightly faster response time) would either. I "drive" the monitor via a GeForce 6800 Ultra with the DVI cable and run it in its native resolution. As a side note.. too often I have seen reviews on LCDs that complain about clarity when running a resolution that is not native; but that is the price you pay for running the monitor outside of its native resolution... so if you plan on running in a resolution other than 1680 x 1050 (or if your video card does not support it), then be expected to see a "sub-standard" display.

There are really only two things that I would mention that are a "pain" with this monitor. The first is the fact that the panel controls just seem awkward to use (same was true on the 19") so tweaking settings can be somewhat time consuming and frustrating. The other item is that there is no "auto adjust" button for it. I have grown accustomed to my HP 2025 monitor at work having the test pattern utility to fire up and then press the auto adjust button to reset everything. Since I am unaware if this is a standard feature of most LCDs, I'm not willing to let it affect the 5 star rating...

Overall though, I am not sure I could be happier... until next year when bonuses come out and I see a larger Sceptre monitor out there just screaming at me to buy it! :)

Excellent monitor for the price.......2006-03-20

I had a 19" LCD from HP before this, one that PCWorld rated as very good. I think this Sceptre Naga III is soooo much better than that. I prefer the tighter dot pitch of this monitor to standard 19" LCD's. It makes text look much clearer, which is my biggest complaing with 19" LCD's. By the way, I have a NVidia 7800GT, which runs this monitor at its 1680 X 1050 native resolution through a DVI cable just great.

To be honest, I haven't played any games with this thing yet, but movies look great, and I don't see any real ghosting.

In general, I'm one of those people who always find faults with things, but I love this thing, and with the rebate, it's worth every penny.

When I bought these, they worked fine, for the first two weeks. Then they stopped working, unless I was within two feet of the person holding the other radio. I replaced the batteries and everything, but it still didn't work. I don't reccomend this product.

Waste of money.......2001-02-14

These radios were a waste of money! We bought this item forour son and promptly returned it. It claims to have a range of up to2 miles, but even in the same house, the clarity of the voices wasmuffled. As for distance, we lost communication a few houses down theroad. We have since purchased a .... 2-way radio for a comparableprice and are pleased with the huge improvement in clarity and range.

Some tests with a GPS on open field and city.

1000 feet city across blocks (1 straight, 1 right , 1 left , 1 right, 10 floor buildings) . Doubles my 900 MHZ spread tech. phones.

I tested 1 mile and a half, open field clear voice. And had more power.

Also passed 2 crash test , and works fine ! Great deal !

I received a pair as said.

I am not a FRS expert, but this are my test results (GPS and handset):

Open field in a city, 1 mile and a half, excelent reception, 3 of 5 (sorry no more open free space). 2 miles could be, not tested.

Through city with buildings, 10 floors concrete: 3 blocks and a half (350 meters zig zag). One block straight, 1 block right, 1 block left 1/2 block right. Both handsets inside buildings. Doubled range my 900 mHZ Spread tech. phones on buildings. Also works well in the elevator, where cellular or 900 MHz phones does not work.

Twice fell to concrete floor (children) , no harm at all in these crash tests:)

Small, simple, powerfull, not expensive. I do recommend this product.

Poor engineering.......2004-11-28

I purchased this telephone very inexpensively due to a rebate. For the price it was worth it, but there are better choices you can make if you must pay the regular price.

The sound quality was poor and sometimes a bit garbled. The earpiece, even though it appears to be a sizeable circular area, is in fact a small slit. If the handset shifts even slightly from my ear, the volume diminishes drastically, which is very annoying. The earphone volume is a nice feature, but because I have to hold it just right to get full volume, I leave it a full volume, which is occasionally too loud.

The range is satisfactory for my use, but not as good as many other 2.4 GHz telephones. I can be about 50-feet from the base unit before detecting deterioration in the signal. By 70-feet there is a lot of static, and by 90-feet, I lose the signal and the call is dropped.

It is also inconvenient to turn the ringer on or off. To do so, you must go through the program menu.

Another annoying feature is that there is a separate button for making a call and hanging up. All our previous phones used the same button. Because of this, many times I automatically pressed the wrong button (the PHONE button) after completing the call, only to later find out the the phone line has been dead and not able to receive calls. It took a while to get into the habbit of pressing the OFF button. However, if you are used to cellphones, (which I am not) this would probably be a positive feature.

After about two months, I replaced this phone with another brand because I was not satisfied. I didn't throw it away, but I did put it where it is less often used.

Nice Speakers and Installation Went Well.......2007-03-13

I installed 4 of these within approximately 2 hours (pre-wired locations). The cardboard template provided worked well, the connections were easy. I started by painting the grills, which was the most difficult part since it was hard to get paint in all of the holes to customer satisfaction (3-4 coats required). One problem is that the sticky tape for the grills is black and gets stuck on your hands, so you must use caution when touching walls or the grills or you get to paint them again...

Movie and music buffs will dig the HTR-5930's Digital Sound Processing (DSP), Yamaha's means of simulating the acoustics of a concert hall, movie theater, or rock concert hall in the comfort of your own home. The Cinema DSP's four programs includes Movie Dramatic, Movie Spacious, Game, and TV Sports, each of which creates an optimum sound field for a specific type of programming. The Music DSP modes, meanwhile, range from 2-Channel Stereo to Concert Hall to Roxy Theatre, the latter of which reproduces the dynamic music environment of one of L.A.'s legendary rock clubs. And, of course, the HTR-5930 handles standard processing for Dolby Digital, DTS, and Pro Logic II sources.

What really makes the HTR-5930 tick, however, are the extras, such as Silent Cinema, a Yamaha-exclusive technology that lets you enjoy multichannel music or movie sound through ordinary headphones, and a night listening mode that lowers the volume during loud passages so the kids don't jolt awake after hearing explosions and other special effects from the next room. Plus, the HTR-5930 not only comes with a standard AM/FM tuner, but is also XM satellite radio ready. All you need is a separately sold XM antenna and a subscription to XM satellite radio and you're set.

Additional features include a virtual surround sound mode, A or B speaker selection, a sleep timer, and a Set menu that lets you optimize the receiver to suit your individual home theater system.

With a bevy of digital and analog inputs, the HTR-5930 can accommodate several digital sources such as DVD players, CD players, video game consoles, digital satellite systems, and much more. The rear panel options include two optical digital inputs and one coaxial digital input; three HDTV-compatible component video inputs and one output; four composite video inputs and two outputs; and two analog audio inputs and one output. Also present is a 5.1 multichannel input.

The HTR-5930 measures 17.12 by 5.94 by 12.44 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a two-year warranty.

Good sound at a good price.......2007-02-19

I'm sure there are some audiophiles that would not be happy with this receiver but for me, the average guy who watches TV and movies, it is exactly what I wanted. I wanted something easy to setup and easy to use. This receiver offers both. I had it setup in about 20-30 minutes. On many channels it will automatically choose the sound mode, such as Dolby Digital. You can also choose between several presets such as TV Sports, Game, 5 Channel Stereo, etc. This receiver is perfect for someone who wants great sound without a long and confusing setup. The remote looks a little daunting at first but I've found it pretty easy to use. I don't use it as my primary remote. I only use it for sound.

Great printer, be careful ordering supplies.......2007-01-28

It prints extremely quickly. Its actually fun to watch its so fast. I throw print jobs that take 6 minutes to print on the Canon C3200 color copier/printer at work and print them on my Xerox and it prints in under 20 seconds. The 800mhz processor is extremely fast.

Be careful ordering supplies though. Xerox's supplies page lists the Phaser 6350 and 6300 supplies on the same page, but the supplies are not interchangeable, and if you don't notice it right away, Xerox won't even take them back.

In summary, great printer, Xerox's supplies people are jerks with their exchange policy.
