This active matrix LCD offers wide 140-degree horizontal viewing angle (130 degrees vertical), letting you share and inspect onscreen graphics without having to crowd viewers immediately in front of the monitor. It features a unique 90-degree fold-up base design for easy wall-mounting. The panel by itself is just 2.2 inches thick, so it has a very slim profile no matter where you place it or how you configure it. An anti-glare coating reduces glare and the resulting eye fatigue.
Customizable settings include image adjustments, color controls, and menu language choices; these are accessed through an intuitive onscreen interface. We purchased the ViewSonic 17" LCD Monitor because it was one of two brands recommended to us as providing good quality for the money. My husband uses it, and he is quite happy with it. The colors are nice; it is clear with a reasonably sharp picture. It takes very little space on the desk and has some tilt to it. The 17" picture is significantly better than the 12" screen on the monitor that sold with his Dell computer. There was very little effort involved in installation. We got a better deal buying it from Amazon than we could get from any local store, it shipped quickly, and we got a good quality product.
a FAIR LCD Monitor ... better than others in the market.......2005-09-11
I was happy with my ViewSonic VP191b monitor. My wife's Envision monitor died and she needed a new one but she was ok with getting the smaller screen (17 instead of 19). So far is a good monitor better than Envision and also better than the Gateway monitor that originally came with my pc that also broke down several month ago.
The price was good, you can get cheaper but ...

I bought this one for my home computer and it made my old monitor look like it was cheap. This is an outstanding monitor. I am very pleased with it and if you got one you would be too. I would recommend this one over sony or any of the others.

I got this monitor for my office and it is amazing. I used to use a 14 inch screen that my laptop had with it and I have to say, this is an immense improvement. The resolution it handles (1280x1024) is much better than the one my laptop displayed (1024x768).
The colors are bright and sharp and the styling of this monitor is great. Real slim frame and it looks very high tech.
Highly reccomend this item - especially for the price - it is a good buy.

I am a part of an Law Enforcement group that recently depended on this type of radios. When I first tried these radios, it was in a covered parking garage, with 3 levels of parking spaces. We had people stationed at every corner, at all levels, and next to the nearest building, which was .5 miles away. These radios worked perfectly. The only complant I have is that the bottom cover that keeps on falling off. After my first encounter with those radios, I bought my own, which was the Motorola T289. Since we had radios without codes, we had to use the regular 14 channels. With outside interference, my radio, and along with other brands of radios, worked flawlessly with these. I highly recommend these radios, but if you can find a better deal (which I did), then these radios are only for those who can't shop around.

Overall, I like this product. I have tried it both inside and outside of the house and on the road. I guess I was hoping for a little more range out of it. They are pretty lightweight and the looks arn't bad. I couldn't quite get the 2 miles range that it says it has. But hey for this price you can't beat em'. I've owned these FRS radios for less than 6 months and they have had to be sent in for repair of the radio electronics twice. Also, the cover which holds the batteries in is constantly falling off. When they are working, they work fine. The channel lock feature is nice, as is the button which allows you to listen when the incoming signal is not strong enough to be detected. If you're looking for something reliable, you may want to consider others.

I read a few reviews saything this was a good, inexpensive radio. Had it for a month and finally got a chase to use it. One of the receivers didn't work...and then did work. Now in the third month it's completely dead.

WOW! What an outstanding product. They handle tons of power, it can output a lot of bass without distortion and the overall sound is exceptional for the price and size. Using as FRONT speakers in my setup. Sound clarity is also very good.
Great high and imaging.......2004-03-19
I have audited several low price speakers, such as $100 to $300 range Pioneer, Polk Audio, Boston, KLH ... This Yamaha speaker has great highs, transparent, and Great 3D imaging! The focusing so sharp and accurate, I can almost 'see' the instruments and singers.
However, this speaker is weak at midrange and lows. A subwoofer can compensate for that.

Green and Red Pixels invade.......2004-07-21
I have returned the 19" monitor twice. The first time there were green pixels invading the dark areas and the second time there were red pixels invading the dark areas. The green and red pixels made it hard to read some text and view video or photos. I have just received the monitor back from repair and there is still a red pixel problem. Beware of the LCD pixel problems. I don't know if it is just ViewSonic or if other LCD models have the same problem.
Extremely high quality screen.......2004-04-15
I didn't realize how blurry my CRT monitor was until I got this monitor. The picture quality is outstanding. You do have to get used to some "ghosting" when scrolling high contrast visuals (ie. black font on white background). You can eliminate a pretty good portion of the ghosting for text by using clear text under display properties->appearance->effects in Windows XP. I would not recommend this lcd panel for anyone who is into gaming with high FPS requirements. The 25ms response time is faster than most models out there, however, it's still not fast enough for gaming. I currently use this monitor as a second monitor to extend my desktop. If you don't play games on your PC, then this flat panel is for you. It saves a lot of desk space. The native resolution for this monitor is 1280x1024. Any other resolutions will use interpolation and will appear blurry (this is common to all LCD monitors).
Some of the bad things about this monitor :
1) inability to tilt the monitor in any direction
2) Speakers that are very weak they should have just been left out of the monitor.
The outstanding display definitely outshines both negatives about this monitor. I highly recommend it for any serious application-oriented PC user. It will save you money in eye glass prescriptions in the future. ;)
Programmer/Gamer's perspective.......2004-03-30
I would give it 6 stars if I could...I mainly use my computer for gaming (warcraft) and for programming. Warcraft is a graphically intense game and the monitor blew away what I had before. The game rendered beautifully. As for reading and looking at documents, the text comes through very crisp. I would have gotten the vx2000. But for that one extra inch, it would have been an additional $300.00. Ouch...if you got money to burn go with the 20 but you will be happy with the 19 as well. I am.

I bought this monitor to replace my 17" Philips monitor. This 19" monitor is very bright and clear and works great. I highly recommend it and any viewsonic product.
Viewsonic VX900-2: A Gamers Perspective.......2004-01-20
I'd like to start off by saying how vivid and crisp this monitor is for low motion uses like desktops, web pages, spreadsheets, word processing, etc. Good whites, good blacks, bright and clean, with a nice appearance. No dead pixels, good backlighting.
Unfortunately-
It would appear I have very sensitive eyes, and in high motion situations this monitor shows ghosts. Most people I've asked say its not noticeable, but it bothers me when I play FPS's and watch movies. If you're in the same boat, maybe a CRT (I'm switching back) or a different LCD would be better for you.
