Memory card error.......2006-05-09

My review mirrors of this product mirrors that of another customer posted recently. For some months after I first bought the card, it worked great. Now it has twice caused memroy card errors and corrupted data with my Canon Elph, and photo technicians have been unable to retrieve any of the pictures from the card. Judging by what other customers have written, I'm suspecting that this may be an issue of poor compatibility between Canon cameras and Viking cards. In any case, I will be buying a new memory card and it will certainly not be a Viking.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Viking 512MB CompactFlash, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this 512MB card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Never a Complaint Never a Concern.......2002-12-31

I have used both the 512 Meg and 256 Meg Flash cards in my Canon G2 camera. I have yet to experience any performance issues. When you are at an event or a special location and want to take pictures, the last thing you should have to do is edit your work. These storage devices allow me to take pictures quickly and efficiently and at volume for later review on my PC. These storage devices offer an great value comparable to all other on the market.

Possibly the best speaker ever made (for the money).......2004-03-25

Take a pair of these diminutive speakers to your neighborhood audiophile dealer and ask to demo his best equipment through them. Ask to A/B these speakers with his best bookshelf speakers and his best floorstanders. Listen to your favorite music with your eyes closed and have the tech switch back and forth between the speakers. While all speakers are "different" I'll lay odds you'll find the 7.2's as musically pleasing as the best speakers offered. When you consider that the price of a pair of these 7.2's from Ebay run less than $100 delivered you will HAVE TO AGREE with the review title...oh yeh...remember to get your speakers back from the tech (who's probably hidden them away already!!). Real wood veneers (rosewood, oak, and black) blow away ANYTHING I've heard several times the price...everyone who has ever demoed a pair of these have purchased them (and have thanked me NUMEROUS TIMES). Find these speakers and buy them. They recreate the music the way the artist intended. They seem to have a magical way of understanding what the musicians are playing and adjust accordingly. Punchy deep base for Rock/Rap/Jazz/Blues/Country incredible mids and highs for acoustic and classical recordings..

OK for a small speaker.......2004-02-15

I have a pair of these in my library. For a small speaker, they're pretty good, BUT I like chamber music and in particular string quartets. I find the close-miked string reproduction generally boxy, and have to play them at background levels, otherwise I find the sound annoying. Piano reproduces well, as do vocals. I found they were very susceptible to sympathetic vibration when I placed them on bookshelves or small tables, and ended up buying a pair of Sanus speaker stands (see my review), which has improved the sound considerably.

Astounding!.......2003-06-09

I gave these speakers three stars when I first hooked them up. Now I have to change my opinion.

When I got the Wharfdales, my EQ was set for a pair of Kenwoods. I thought the new speakers would use the settings just fine, and as a result, left me unimpressed.

Then, I set the EQ to a flat (0 db)sound curve. It was as if a chorus of angels came down from heaven singing 'Hallelujah'. These things are that good. The entire audio spectrum is clear and tight.

If you are on a budget, but still demand good sound, you have to buy these speakers.

For those about to rock...look somewhere else!.......2003-06-04

These speakers have the best top-end I have ever heard in a bookshelf speaker. I have actually heard details in my CD's that I had never heard before. However, the mid-range is flat and the Wharfdales have no bass to speak of.

If you listen to classical or acoustic type music, these are wonderful (and pretty) speakers, at a great price. If you want to rawk out, or get your groove on, look somewhere else.

I think these speakers would be best used as part of a home theater setup. The Diamond 7's really shine with a good center and a sub to take up their slack.

New lease of life.......2003-06-01

I regretted this extravagance as soon as I'd left my Gold Box. Then I hooked them up, and was sold. These are the real deal, with separate terminals for feeding the low and high-frequency drive units. I hear and feel the difference and have been working through my favorites as if meeting them for the first time.

Now I know why it's a discontinued item.......2004-05-21

The picture is nothing spectacular, and the styling is atrocious. The only reason I picked this t.v. up, back in 2001, was because I desperately wanted stereo sound. And guess what? The sound is dreadful; the timbre is more like a transistor radio from the 70s. Actually, the sound is more enhanced when the stereo option is OFF. And forget about the audio integrity when playing a tape or DVD! It just gets worse. I have always trusted Zenith, and will contiue to do so. I'm just going to chalk up this model as an aberration.

Great for the price.......2003-04-04

For the price, you cannot go better. We had a problem recently however, that made me want to return this TV. The cable jack on this TV just BLEW, and now we have to get cable through our VCR - not even through our DVD player :( - because of this. Now, every time I want to watch something, I have to plug and unplug my speakers into the appropriate location each time I want to do something (let it be Cable on the VCR or games on the TV). But this TV has lasted me a good five years, and for this price, and if they last you this long, they will DEFINATELY get you through college, or any other short-use periods.

X3D TV Transformer is a joke.......2005-01-22

This product is a joke. I tried for a few hours to see 3D images,
it just blurred the image of my TV. The remote also does not work
unless you are very close to the X3D box. The manufacturer claims
it can transform the HD in 3D HD. The box doesn't even have a
component or DVI input to process the HD signal.
